There comes a time when you have to admit to yourself that something is not working. That time has come, and I’ve decided to work with my original competition trainer. Jerry Ward from BioS3 is that one that helped me lose weight a few years back and got me ready for the two figure competitions I’ve done in the past.
I reached out to him almost a week ago and explained my situation. Over three years have passed since my last show, and in that time I’ve lost the progress I made. My time away from competition made me realize that I never had a chance to grieve the losses I suffered back in 2012. This is not my way of making excuses; it’s just a way to figure out what and where I went wrong. We all suffer loss and handle it differently.
The place I’m in right now is not a good place to be, and I want to feel strong again. When I was working out, I was strong mentally and physically. The confidence I had in the gym, at home and the office was something I admired in myself, so I want that feeling back.
So, in the coming weeks, I will take you along on this journey. It’s a journey to find a healthy balance. My goal is to complete again, but I don’t want to diet for 20 weeks to get stage ready. Honestly, there is no reason for that. If I stay healthy all year long my weeks on prep will be less. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this is not rocket science. It’s possible to stay healthy and happy while in offseason. So, I just need to figure out how that will work for me and my lifestyle.
Ok, I have rambling enough. So, I will end this here and leave you with my video that goes in a little more detail of the plan and what to expect from this point forward.
