Well, what can I say other than I’m your girl if you like spice? Greg and I had one hell of a hot pepper picking this year. We made sure we have backup plants in case one did not grow but we did not expect so many.
Greg and I are trying to decide what to do with all the peppers. Our favorite barbecue place is in Pennsylvania so we contacted them to see if they would be interested in the peppers. There was no desire to get anything in return. We just wanted to make sure that somebody you would enjoy them.
Take a look at our latest picking. Who can honestly say no to all those peppers? I’m proud of all that we grew this year and next year will be even better. Greg and I don’t need anything for the peppers. It’s hard to find somebody who can handle that heat.
Honestly, I love growing things in the garden more than I thought I ever would. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that I am able to grow my own food and depend on myself for the food we eat. It’s a feeling of empowerment that is pretty freaking amazing.
Oh, did I ever mention that from what we’ve seen so far it looks like we are going to have one heck of a winter? If you see a lot of spiderwebs it’s a good indication that winter will be a tough one. I’m ready (I think) are you?
On Sunday, Greg and I went out to the mountains. We enjoyed looking for a new property because having the weekend getaway is not out of the question. I really want to find a hunting property with maybe a put another beer small ponders stream running through it.
It’s fun for us to take a ride in the country or the mountains. I’m still waiting to see a bear but I’m sure one of these days I will see one. In the meantime, I will just enjoy the scenery.
We had a gift card for Red Lobster so we stopped for lunch. To my surprise, Greg remembered that I like the champagne vinaigrette. He’s a good hubby, I can’t complain about that.
I love that he takes the jeep out so often too. I always wanted to be with a jeep guy and now I have one and he’s noted looking either 😉
We did the usual meal prep and Greg made a new pasta dish. Since we started to grow our own onions and peppers he has been adding them to all out dishes. As a child, my mother never made me eat veggies so all those typical “healthy foods” are like candy to me. Give me all the veggies!
Ok, it’s about that time to end the day so I will leave you with the blog and we will see you tomorrow!
