So my trip started on Thursday morning. I left on a plane with many other people all going to Ohio for the Arnold. Can’t forget about the (umm) pleasure of sitting near a guy who was going to work the Bodybuilding.com booth who wanted to enlighten me on how great steroids are and how every single person who has a great body only does it with the use of steroids. I could not help but think…”Omg, what did I get myself into?”
The flight was not too terrible. I waited for my roomie to show up at the airport also and we headed to the hotel together. She had to hurry up and get ready for the Arnold Amateur she was in the Bikini division. It was an exciting night because I have never had a chance to watch a competition before. These ladies look amazing. There were a few things that I was able to pick up on that look good on stage and things that do not. I took a million pictures.
Here are a few pictures from my first day in Ohio.
The day before I left I got my nails done but the place I go to was sold to some other people and not even 24 hours later my nails were chipping. I was not a happy person.
The flight was comfortable. Except for the whole steroids debate. When we landed, the airport was super slow except for the amazing bodies headed to the Arnold. For the most part, this is what I was staring at until I meet up with my roommate for the weekend.
Here is a picture of the first room. Yeah, we switched rooms three times while we were there. The first room had no heat. We gave it hours and called the front desk to have them fix it but it, still did not work. My classic quote from me this weekend “I am not sleeping in an ice box!” They tried to tell me that they could not change my room because they were overbooked. Sorry that is not my problem. I did not pay to sleep in the cold! Here is the first room:
We decided to let the room try to heat up and headed over to the amateur show. It was interesting for me because I have never seen a show before. I loved watching fitness. Very interesting. I was impressed with all the girls up there, and it made me want to get up there on stage this year but also scared the crap out of me…do I think I can do what they are doing? Major reality checks for me because I am determined to prove that I can do this but was feeling really out of place, but it’s all part of facing fears and overcoming them right? Nobody said the road I want to take would be easy.
I know the picture is far away…sorry! Anyways, this is bikini up there now. So many girls were doing bikini. Fun to watch, though. After the show, we went back to the room to see that the heat was not working. I had to go to the front desk and refuse to leave until they switched out rooms. See, this is what a warm room looks like 🙂
