It all started on Monday when I hopped on the bathroom scale and saw 160.6 pounds. So, I’m starting with Avatar Nutrition. I know I did not eat perfectly over the weekend. It’s that time of the month, I’m holding a ton of water and I want to eat everything in sight.
So, after I got on the scale I had to do something. I’ve decided to give macro counting another try. What I usually do is have a plan done and I get a breakdown of what types of food to eat and what time I should eat them. This macro plan lets me have protein, fats, and carbs without guilt. I know it will be a learning curve but I think with some time and practice it will be a good thing for me.
Greg is helping me track my meals and he’s writing down everything he cooks so I can add it to MyFitnessPal. I know I will find a way to make this work and to find an easy way to track it all. I’ve heard that some people track from 5 pm to 5 pm. So, dinner is the first “meal of the day” and then you make breakfast and lunch fit around what is left. I may try the 5 pm to 5 pm thing after my staycation next week because we tend to eat out for lunch so it would not help me to change it now. Dinner is fitting in just fine for now like what we had last night. I throw in my remaining macros and cook it all together for some yummy goodness.
I’ve decided to go with Avatar Nutrition because they are inexpensive at 0nly $10 a month and it’s pretty detailed for a program like this. I enter in my personal information like sex, age, height, weight, and body fat percentage. You can also select more or fewer carbs so they will adjust to your preference. Once all those numbers are in, they provide you with macros for on your individual needs. There is also a Facebook support group that has been extremely helpful.
I have my numbers for the week and will update them again on Monday. If I’m not compliant with the plan there is a way to admit that. Avatar Nutrition will give your plan changes on how you follow the plan. I’m happy to really give this a try and see what can happen. I’m open to it now. I will give an update next week to let you know how it’s going. I’m working on those November goals.
