I have not been as active on Instagram as I would like to be. So, I chose to do a July Photo a Day challenge. It will be a good reason to get the camera out and take pictures of things I would normally ignore. If you want to join me I have included a challenge below. The posts will be uploaded on here and Instagram daily. If this works out well I will continue it next month also.
Greg is always telling me that I need to use my camera more so this is a perfect opportunity to make this a habit. I hope you will join me in this new adventure.
I plan on using the hashtag #DailyPhoto so you can follow me on Instagram and also join my new Facebook Group where I will be posting photos and you can too! The Facebook group is something new but a cool place to get to know each other more and share with each other. Come on over and make new friends.
It’s a new month and a long weekend for most of us. So, grab a glass of wine and let’s get to know each other better.
Speaking of a long weekend, what plans do you have? Do you go to the beach, watch fireworks, have a family reunion? Whatever you decided to do I hope you have fun and keep it safe this holiday weekend.
I have some videos that I need to edit and upload to Youtube so that will keep me busy this weekend. There should be more active on my main channel that you can enjoy next month so keep an eye open for that coming your way. It’s getting late and I have a ton of things on my to-do list. I look forward to seeing your #DailyPhoto.
A trip to the Catoctin Mountains always makes me feel better. We are on a hunt and Searching for Berries and Bears. It’s so peaceful and yesterday was the perfect jeep driving weather. If you know anything about me at all you know the #JeepLife is the only way to go! The freedom that comes with owning a Jeep is something I can’t explain because you either get it or you don’t. It took me almost 10 years to turn Greg into a Jeep Guy.
There is some property that Greg is looking into buying so we headed out to scope out the area a little better.
He had us out in an area that has no cell service at all and the funniest part is the location was right next to all the cell towers!
Once we moved further away from the cell towers the signal got better. It was just odd that we could be so close to the towers and get zero signal. I don’t mind that idea of having a weekend place. However, without the internet, that is something I would need to slowly move into the idea of that.
We did hunt around for bears because I just want to see one. I know they are out there. The hunt was also on for where I can pick some berries this summer. We have berries that grow in our yard but in my opinion, you can never have too many.
We drove across one of the many bridges that go over the Monocacy River and there is a sign that anyone who dumping is subject to a $30,000 fine and I think that’s fantastic. I think anyone who dumps near the river should get hit with lots of fines. We need to keep it beautiful and clean.
Ok, my day is starting to get away from me. So, I have a lot of cleaning to do before I head to the gym for leg day. I will leave you with our recent vlog Searching for Berries and Bears.
This week has been fabulous in reference to my workouts. I feel amazing and when I leave the gym I know I’ve had a good workout. A few weeks ago I was talking to my stylist and she quite her new fancy (very expensive) gym and went to a simple gym that she felt more comfortable at. The change got her focus back and she lost some of the weight she put on. As some of you may know, I have a membership to Planet Fitness but could never really find my groove in that gym.
In the past, it took a change of gyms to get my motivation in the right place. Since I joined this gym a few weeks ago I’ve been more motivated and excited to workout again.
You can always find me on the step mill when it comes to cardio. It’s my favorite place to be.
Greg and I took an afternoon to visit the Antietam Battlefield. We also made a stop on the Appalachian Trail before we moved on to the Washington Monument.
The weather was perfect, the company was fabulous and the view was outstanding! A perfect day all around.
Have you ever seen such a beautiful sight in your entire life? It’s breathtaking!
Have you ever been to a battlefield? I can’t explain the feeling I get when we are there but you can feel something is there with you. The energy is still in the air and the deep sadness. It’s a complete mixture of emotions for me.
The land is beautiful. We stopped at Burnside’s Bridge. They did some updates to it recently but I’m not a fan of the work that was done to it.
On to the garden updates, we cut the oregano and will have to see if we get more growth from it. I think I let it grow a little too much before cutting it. We are drying it out now and hopefully have some pasta with our oregano soon. It’s pretty exciting to grow your own stuff.
The apples are self-aborting from the trees this year and we are not sure why. Greg is doing research on it as I type this out. The peaches are coming in nicely so I’m happy about that.
We believe the garden and apples are not doing well this year because of the weather. We got real warm and then the cold hit us and that happened a few times. So, we figure that’s why the growth is not happening this year. Mother Nature controls us and we just have to go with the flow.
Ok, I will leave you with the recent vlog and see ya again tomorrow.

It’s not that important to me at the moment but Greg have updated a New Sound For The Jeep and I’m loving it. It’s amazing how things can be fine until you have something new and then you wonder how you lived without out it. Hello….microwave anyone?!

Let’s start with the stereo first because I’ve had that for the longest amount of time. Greg ordered the Pioneer MVH-X580BS from Crutchfield and I love it. You can call me a child but I love how the stereo changes colors every few seconds.
The Bluetooth does not automatically connect every time but I know I can call Crutchfield to resolve but I’ve been lazy. I will take care of this soon but I found an alternative way around it.
When we took Betty out for a drive over the weekend Greg said my stereo sounded terrible so he surprised me with a new one yesterday. I can’t believe what a difference it makes. I’m loving it! He bought a Kicker 43DSC504 and even though it’s priced really low the quality is pretty amazing. Some of the reviews said it would not fit my 20014 tj Jeep Wrangler but we didn’t have an issue with the fit.
Like I said, the sound is amazing and the price was right. We use crutchfield for most electronics because their customer service and prices are the best around. He bought my Canon G7X from them also and even when we had to return it they were awesome.
I feel the need to take the jeep out this weekend for a long drive. Maybe Greg will feel like going to the mountains but with the holiday weekend who knows how he will feel. If we head out I will make sure to take y’all along with us.
Here is my most recent vlog for y’all and we will be back soon.
